Dong shi Acupuncture

Precision. Distal Technique. Powerful Results.

A specialised acupuncture system known for its fast clinical response — especially for pain and complex conditions.

DS Acupuncture (also known as Tung’s Acupuncture) is a specialised lineage-based acupuncture system developed by Dong Jingchang.

Unlike classical acupuncture that follows the traditional 12 meridians, DS acupuncture system uses a unique set of extra points — primarily located on the hands and legs.

What makes it powerful is its distal approach:
We often treat pain away from the painful area.

For example:

  • Lower back pain may be treated on the hand
  • Shoulder pain may be treated on the leg
  • Sciatica may be addressed distally

This allows effective treatment while avoiding irritated or inflamed regions.

✔ Distal Needling Technique

Targets root imbalances without aggravating sensitive areas.

✔ Rapid Clinical Response

Highly regarded for strong pain relief outcomes.

✔ Whole-Body Regulation

Integrates organ systems, Five Element relationships, and energetic balance.

✔ Suitable for Complex Pain Patterns

Ideal when conventional local treatment has plateaued.

  • Lower back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck & shoulder tension
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Knee pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Menstrual pain and irregular cycles
  • PMS and hormonal imbalance
  • Fertility support and IVF preparation
  • Pregnancy-related discomfort (nausea, back pain, fatigue)
  • Menopause and perimenopausal symptoms

Each treatment plan is personalised following a professional assessment.

DS Acupuncture views the hands and legs as microsystems that reflect the entire body.

By stimulating specific points, we:

• Regulate nervous system activity
• Improve circulation
• Reduce inflammatory response
• Restore energetic balance
• Support the body’s natural healing process

This approach is precise, strategic, and clinically focused.

DS Acupuncture is especially suitable if:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Dong shi Acupuncture?

Dong Shi Acupuncture (also called Tung’s Acupuncture) is a unique acupuncture system using specialised extra points, primarily on the hands and legs, to treat pain and internal conditions effectively.

Is it painful?

Most patients find Dong’s Acupuncture very manageable.

You may feel a brief pinch when the needle is inserted. After that, you might experience sensations such as aching, tingling, heaviness, fullness, or a mild radiating feeling. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, these sensations are known as “Qi” — a normal therapeutic response indicating that Qi is being activated and stagnation is beginning to clear.

These feelings are usually temporary and are considered a positive sign that the body is responding and circulation is improving.

Because Dong’s Acupuncture often uses distal points (away from the inflamed or painful area), treatment is generally comfortable while still producing effective results.

How is it different from traditional acupuncture?

Traditional acupuncture follows the 12 meridian system.
DS acupuncture system uses its own specialised point system and often treats pain distally (away from the painful area).

How quickly will I see results?

Many patients notice improvement during or immediately after their first session, particularly for pain-related conditions. However, some may take more sessions to improve especially chronic issues.
